What's in it for writers to have a book version of their script?
Q & A
Having a book version of your script provides you with a separate business opportunity that you control to promote the book version of the script directly to studios and a domestic and global audience across multiple platforms.
Q. I know nothing about book publishing; how do I get guidance and assistance with adapting my script to a manuscript and getting it published.
A: Having an experienced team to help you by providing the guidance and resources to become a published author, will make the process easy to complete. Speak with our executive producer.
Q: Are there guarantees my book will sell?
A: No. Just like your script, there are no guarantees the execs you submit it to, or the public will like it. However, publishing allows you to continue promoting your book and marketing your book to a global audience. Regardless of how long it takes for a studio to pick it up.
In addition to you being a screenwriter and published author, your book is a product you own, allows you to compete on another level for bringing attention to your project and the public pays you to read.
Q: How long does it take to adapt a script to a book?
A: 4-8 weeks, depending on how well the script you’ve written matches your vision and the genre of your script. In some cases, the writing of the manuscript can be expedited.
Q: Are all scripts able to be adapted to a book?
A: Not necessarily. It depends on the concept, genre, and how the storyline is written. However, some specialists in this field of adapting a script to a manuscript will tell you any script can be rewritten, to make it marketable.
Q: Can I adapt my script myself to a manuscript?
A: Yes. You already have the most difficult first step completed. You've written your script.
The next step is adapting the script to a manuscript. Once you have your manuscript written, the next phase is to get your manuscript published, distributed, and promoted to the public.
Note: There are resources and online instructions online to help you better understand the process.
