Why Are Writers Adapting Their Scripts To Books

There's a reason Steven Spielberg, Michael Mann, Kevin Costner, Stephen King, and many more writers have made adaptation a cornerstone of their promotional strategies for their scripts. ·

Answer: As a published author, having a book version of your script provides you with a separate business opportunity that you control. It enables you to promote the book version of your script directly to a domestic and global audience across multiple platforms, without needing approval.

Getting started: Adapting your script to a book

What's in it for writers to adapt their script to a book.

Due to technology, online book publishing resources and book retail platforms the following applies:

In addition to submitting your script to film/streaming studios having a book version of your script, offers another pathway for writers to promote and showcase the book version of their script to a domestic and global audience.

  • It also gives writers a separate business model for promoting their script, that they control. It also enhances their ability to allow the public to read the book version of your script, creating the potential for building a fan base, and their brand as a writer and published author.

  • Simultaneously, writers are using a pathway for promoting and marketing the book version of their script that studios have a heightened interest in and directly to a domestic and global public audience.

  • Adaptation of your script to a book gives writers another pathway to promote and showcase their script in a different format.

  • The entire process of adapting a script to book takes less time than ever before.

  • Writers have the options of taking steps to perform the adaptation process on their own or have the process completed for them.

  • To start... the most important step is completed. Your script has already been written.

  • There's no pitching.

  • No approval process.

  • You control the entire process from beginning to end.
